The ceramic element removes bacteria, micro organisms, suspended particles and parasites down to .9 micorns. Filters will purify up to 2000 gallons before needing to be replaced. Removes greater than 99.99% of E coli, klebsiella, cholera, shigella, giardia, cryptorchidism, and salmonella. Removes 99.7% of particles larger than .3 microns.
